IGP directs foolproof security for Shab-e-Barat

KARACHI: Sindh’s Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khawaja on Sunday directed all the DIGs to ensure security and traffic flow in the province on the occasion of ‘Shab-e-Barat’.

According to a Sindh Police spokesperson, the IGP directed top officials to launch a crackdown against sale and use of fireworks and firecrackers on the occasion of the holy event.  The IGP ordered to take effective steps for the security of graveyards, shrines and other sensitive places. He also issued directives for keeping bomb disposal squads on alert.

He also ordered all the SHOs to increase patrolling and random checking in their respected areas in this regard.
