Zardari asks party leaders to forge alliances in Punjab

Former President Asif Ali Zardari has held separate lengthy meetings with senior PPP leaders Manzoor Watto, Sardar Lateef Khosa and PPP Punjab Chapter President Qamar Zaman Kaira. Zardari discussed the overall political situation of the country, including Punjab, and assigned a task of forging alliances to Punjab PPP leaders.

According to sources, a decision was taken that the protest against the load shedding will continue, while Zardari and senior PPP leaders agreed to extend ongoing protest against load shedding to other provinces.

Zardari remarked that the ruling government’s promises and claims have proven to be false. “No matter how much they try, they can’t be saved now,” he remarked, adding that his party will remind the rulers of their promises.

The meeting participants also decided that they need a united stand in electoral cooperation and protest against Punjab government.

Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that those joining the PPP from other political parties would be given full opportunities to perform to their fullest potential to change the political landscape of Karachi.

“Let us work together for restoration of City of Lights and the City of Peace besides provision of food, shelter and clothes to every citizen,” Bilawal stated while addressing more than 100 political leaders, office-bearers and workers from PTI, MQM and FML Karachi who had joined PPP in different batches during the last eight months.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that PPP is the Party of all classes and entire Pakistan and vision of its founding leadership was to strengthen a democratic Pakistan having its destiny in the hands of masses. “PPP has experienced great political movements leading the people from the front for the rights of the people and our country,” he added.

He predicted that PPP candidates will win majority seats in Karachi in 2018 general elections and asked the workers to coordinate with the new entrants for achieving the mission to serve people of the city.

PPP Sindh General Secretary Waqar Mehdi, Rashid Rabbani, Senator Saeed Ghani and others were present on the occasion.
