The United States has acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts for peace in the region.
The sentiments were expressed by the US National Security Advisor Lieutenant General McMaster during a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry in Washington.
Lieutenant General McMaster also appreciated Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism and urged the need for continued cooperation for a stable and prosperous region.
During the meeting, peace in Afghanistan and broader regional stability also came under discussion.
The Ambassador informed him that peace in Afghanistan is a high priority for Pakistan, especially to consolidate the gains made in enduring fight against terrorism.
He also briefed the NSA about prospects of economic engagement between the two countries and the investment opportunities emerging in Pakistan after the economic turnaround.
