PPP protests water shortage, load shedding in Larkana

LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Sindh chapter arranged a protest rally here on Saturday and staged a sit-in against acute water shortages and electricity and gas load shedding

The protest was led by party’s Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro who is also Food Minister.

A Large number of women and men took part in the sit-in and chanted slogans against the federal government.

Nisar Khuhro said: “We have taken to streets to express solidarity with our people who are facing serious issues of water shortages and prolonged electricity blackouts and gas outages”.

He harshly criticised Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and warned ‘we will not only stage sit-ins in front of power distribution companies’ offices but also on the bordering areas of Sindh and Punjab and force the prime minister to leave office”.

He said that sit-ins will be staged on May 11 in Mirpurkhas, on May 16 in Nawabshah and in Sukkur on May 21.
