KARACHI: The paramedical staff of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) Karachi on Saturday staged a protest demonstration in favour of their demands and also boycotted the duties for two hours.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with different slogans, including stop injustice with paramedics, increase allowances, implement service structure, give risk allowance, and others.
The protesters said paramedical staff will hold a protest demonstration outside the Old Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) on May 09, 2017, against injustice and violation of their rights if their genuine demands were not accepted within four days.
The protest demonstration worsened the patient care in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The visiting and admitted patients had to suffer a lot as the outpatient departments and wards almost remained non-functional due to the absence of staff.
KMC Medical and Health Services Senior Director Dr Muhammad Ali Abbasi was not available for comments.
