Former Sindh IGP, top officers to be indicted in corruption reference

KARACHI: An accountability court in Karachi will indict former IGP Sindh Gulam Haider Jamali and other police officers on the charge of allegedly causing loss of over Rs 500 million to the national exchequer by misusing their authority and powers.

An accountability court conducted the hearing of a reference filed by the NAB against IG Sindh Gulam Haider Jamali and other police officers for allegedly causing loss of over Rs 500 million to the national exchequer by making illegal appointments in the department.

The NAB prosecutor informed the court that an investigation has been completed against the accused adding that it has lots of evidence against all the accused.

The hearing was adjourned till May 20.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh High Court has already given all accused interim bail in aforesaid reference.
