ISLAMABAD: A patient has been registered in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) with symptoms of Chikungunya. The patient was travelling from Karachi where the disease has gone viral.
The doctors, are awaiting the reports of 45-year-old Safeer Khan before saying anything with certainty. Safeer is a resident of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) but works in Karachi.
According to reports, the mosquito-borne viral fever has taken over the coastal belt of Karachi after its first outbreak in Malir district last year. Thousands of patients have flocked to the hospitals in the southern districts of the metropolis.
