Poverty-ridden beneficiaries of Benazir Incomer Support Program (BISP) on Friday held a protest demonstration against opening up of a BISP centre in a shop.

They chanted slogans against the managers of the centre.

Razia Begum, Zameeran Begum, Rasheeda, Kaz Bano, Zulekha, Fatima, Sakina and others complained that the cops posted to provide security at center were involved in corruption. They alleged that agents and the policemen were charging Rs 500 to Rs 1000 from each beneficiary.

The protesters said that the centre had been opened in a shop which was too congested and they have to wait outside the shop without the facility of washroom or cold drinking water.

They said that the contract had been awarded to a person who was doing easy paisa business before, and now he was looting them with the help of cops and the agents. The protestors said that there was no system of delivering the money. They demanded inquiry and proper running of BISP center.
