Lahore: Heavy foreign investments can be attracted with proper training of the people as Pakistan’s pharma industry has a potential of Rs 300 billion.
This was concluded at the end of two- day Pak Pharma & Health Care Expo 2017 on Thursday. The expo was held at Expo Centre, Lahore. More than 80 national and international companies related to pharmaceutical, packaging, processing machinery, laboratory testing equipment, hospital equipment, medical instruments, raw material and medical research participated in the expo and presented new trends and research in the pharma sector.
Earlier, Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Khawja Imran Nazir inaugurated the expo on Wednesday.
The provincial minister visited the stalls and admired the companies working to bring new trend and research to the national pharma industry. Talking to the media, the minister said the pharma industry is the backbone of national economy and the collaboration of the national and international companies will take this sector to new heights. He urged the industries concerned and researcher to work honestly and assured that the government will support and patronise the pharma industries to every possible extent.
Chairman Morgan Group Liaqat Javed, said that the Pakistani pharmaceutical industry has a potential of Rs 300 billion and heavy foreign investment can be attracted. ” Government has restricted people to earn via wrong ways, there is a large room for foreign investment in industry now that can be filled with proper training and awareness of the people concerned ,” Javed said.
