Code of conduct violation case: ECP barred from taking action against Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued directives on Thursday, barring Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from taking any further action against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in code of conduct violation case.

Justice Amir Farooq conducted the hearing of the case, after which he issued the directives. PTI’s plea was accepted by the judge whereas Attorney General of Pakistan was summoned by the court for assistance.

The court has said that the case faces significant constitutional questions.

PTI lawyer Dr Babar Awan presented his arguments in the case and was backed by advocate Naseem Gondal.

The hearing of the case has been adjourned till May 15.
