Denying PPP’s right to hold sit-in at Minto Park undemocratic:  Rehman Malik

Pakistan People’s Party central leader Rehman Malik has said that stopping PPP from staging a sit-in at Minto Park by Punjab government is condemnable.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, he said this step of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif indicates that PMLN is fearful of growing popularity of PPP in Punjab.

He said Shahbaz Sharif himself had used Minto Park against PPP for political purposes; now they are feeling guilty of promises made by them for ending load shedding as all their promises regarding the elimination of load shedding have proved false.

He urged Minto Park has a political history and disallowing public meeting therein is an undemocratic act. The PML-N has lost the war on moral grounds and now they are using foul tactics, he alleged.

Why there are security threats only for PPP while PML-N is holding small rallies everywhere in the country, he questioned.
