KARACHI: The intermediate candidates were caught cheating through WhatsApp groups during exams in Karachi on Tuesday.
The students were caught at a government college in Quaidabad during exams of Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK).
The new tactic of using technology for cheating was revealed when Sindh Colleges Director General Dr Nasir visited Government Degree Boys College at Jogi Mor, near Quaidabad.
Some students, when asked, claimed their teachers encouraged them to join the groups to get answers from administrators of these groups against Rs5,000 per student.
The students managed to sneak the cell phones into the classrooms despite the authorities concerned issued a press release a few days back, which prohibited the possession of mobile phones in exam halls.
