Asif rebuffs India’s attempt to malign Pakistan Army

Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif spurned India’s attempt to malign Pakistan Army on Monday, saying Indian allegations of alleged incursion on the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed state are baseless.

“Indian allegations of incursion on Line of Control are baseless. It is a deplorable attempt to ignite tensions for internal political motives,” he wrote on a social media post. He said that India always trying to malign Pakistan Army so that to take attention away from atrocities in the disputed state.

“These baseless allegations are aimed at vitiating the environment, deflecting attention from troubles in Kashmir and demonising Pakistan Army,” he wrote. He said that he expects Indian government to exercise caution and not let the situation go out of control.

“We remain fully committed to peace on the Line of Control. We expect prudence will be exercised on Indian side to avoid situation spiraling out of control,” he shared. “Pakistan Army upholds highest standards of professional conduct,” he said.

Earlier, the Pakistan Army had also rejected the Indian accusations, saying the Pakistan Army did not commit any ceasefire violation on the Line of Control or a BAT action in Buttal sector as alleged by India. “Indian blame of mutilating Indian soldiers’ bodies are also false,” the army statement said.
