31st meeting of Council of Common Interests underway in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The 31st meeting of council of common interests chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has started in Islamabad

The meeting will focus on matters relating to the distribution of gas and other natural resources amongst the provinces as well as the proposed national LNG policy.

Energy and hydel projects are also expected to be discussed at the meeting.

Officials of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics would give a progress report on the ongoing census exercise. The first phase of the census has been successfully completed whereas the second phase is underway in 87 selected districts.

The meeting is being attended by the provincial chief ministers, Federal Ministers for Finance, Water and Power, SAFRON,  Planning, Petroleum, Overseas Pakistanis, Religious Affairs, Defence Production and Climate Change.
