  • Nation wants truth, publication of complete inquiry report demanded
  • Lashing out at interior minister, Khursheed Shah says he should immediately resign from his office

The opposition political parties have squarely rejected the government’s recommendations on Dawn Leaks and demanded unanimously to make public the complete inquiry report so as the nation could know about the real culprits behind the leak of the controversial information of a high-level meeting on national security.

The opposition demanded that the complete report of Dawn Leaks should be published so that elements behind security lapse could be determined and brought to book instead of scapegoating low-level officials.

In his strong reaction to Dawn Leaks inquiry report, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that Dawn Leaks was a deliberate attempt to malign Pak Army; hence, he demanded that the government must immediately make public the complete inquiry report.

PTI said that that today the second largest state institutions put a stamp on Nawaz Sharif being a dishonest person and it established once again that he is a habitual liar after rejecting his recommendations by the ISPR on Dawn Leak report squarely.

Khursheed Shah said that being a Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, he rejected the Dawn Leaks report because it is a very sensitive matter, as the report was leaked from the PM House.

He said that efforts are being made to find out a unanimous decision on the issue to safeguard the important few.

He said that such reports proved quite detrimental for a country like Pakistan, which is an atomic power.

Lashing out at Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Khursheed Shah said that he should immediately resign from his office over the Dawn Leaks statement. He said that the report was issued with Fawad Hassan Fawad’s signature.

He said that the ISPR’s tweet indicated that the military did not agree to the report, adding that the government had prepared the report on its own choice.

PTI Central Secretary Information Naeem Ul Haq demanded that the government should make Dawn Leaks inquiry report public because the whole nation was impatiently waiting for the findings of the inquiry report in order to know the truth.

He said that the nation wants to know what exact role was played by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi in the leak and should reveal the reason why action was ordered against him.

He questioned, “The nation also wants to know whether Maryam Nawaz, who runs the ruling party media, and Fawad Hassan Fawad were investigated by the probe commission and what was their role?”

He underlined what are the reasons behind leakage of such amount of content from PM house?

Terming the report ‘a plethora of lies’, he said that the five-member bench has already declared the premier unanimously ‘dishonest’.

He said that the government constituted the commission tasked to probe Dawn leak was actually meant to conceal the truth and protect the real culprits instead of bringing the culprits to justice.

Naeemul Haq said just like the Model Town incident and Panama Leaks case, the premier once again tried to mask the facts from the nation, which would not be tolerated.

However, he vowed that the PTI would leave no stone unturned to bring the truth to the nation with regards to Dawn Leaks case like in Panama, adding that the premier’s involvement in such an act is shameful.

PTI leader said that Nawaz Sharif has been left with no option but to leave the office, as the nation was not ready to tolerate him anymore, as the PM house became a security leak from where such sensitive information leaked.

Reacting to the inquiry report, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Sirajul Haq said that his party rejected the government’s recommendations on Dawn Leak in totality and demanded that the complete inquiry report should be made public because it is a matter of national security.

Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed said that the government did not issue the agreed notification due to which the army rejected it instantly. He also demanded that Dawn Leaks recommendations be made public, adding that the government lost the last chance to get itself out of the troubled water.

CHANGING OFFICE ONLY PENALTY FOR SECURITY BREACH, QUESTIONS SHAH MEHMOOD:

PTI central leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has questioned whether changing office is the only penalty for breaching the national security.

Commenting on Dawn Leaks report, he said there is a lack of trust between the government and Pakistan Army over the issue.

The PTI leader was of the view that issues of national interest could not be settled by neglecting them or sacking some of the responsible, but solid steps and strict measures in this regard were needed instead.

Shah Mehmood demanded of the government to issue the complete report of Dawn Leaks as pledged earlier pledged by the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.
