Wekh Lahore exhibition starts tomorrow

The Walled City of Lahore Authority is organising the Wekh Lahore Photo Contest and Exhibition which will be started from 28th April 2017. This exhibition will be for five days at Alhamra Arts Council on The Mall.

There are three categories in the Wekh Lahore Photo Contest and Exhibition: architecture, street life and monuments. Almost 450 pictures will be displayed for five days in the gallery.

The submission for the event was sent to WCLA where the images were selected. The selection process was based on the frame, story, light and clarity of the image. The contest winners will be announced on April 28, who will be given prize money as well as gift hampers.

Authority’s Director General Kamran Lashari said, “I am happy that youngsters are taking more and more interest in the walled city now. Whenever I am there at the walled city I always see groups photographing the heritage and cultural life.”

Deputy Director Tania Qureshi said, “We received almost seven hundred images of walled city in different categories out of which 450 images are being displayed. This is a mega event of Lahore and many people are always looking forward to it every year. The most famous category is of the monuments and architecture.”
