UNDISCLOSED LOCATION – Former spokesman of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) and whoever is holding the instrument behind the camera, Ehsanullah Ehsan has revealed that he wants to dedicate his life to the art of being a spokesman, after his social media video garnered critical acclaim.
Talking to The Dependent seconds after getting his 100,000th Facebook like on the video, Ehsan said that the profession has given so much to him and it’s only fair that he gave some of it back.
“I’m into my 10th year as a spokesman of some of the most illustrious armed groups in all of South Asia.” he began. “I began the career as a college student and now here I am, the viral sensation giving Zaid Ali T and Hamza Ali Abbasi a run for their money. Maybe I’ll finally crack Forbes 30 Under 30.”
Ehsan confessed that while he has spoken to the media from far flung undisclosed locations throughout most of his career, he is enjoying the ‘latest gig’ following the response to his video.
“I’ve never liked being the centre of attention. But this was way before I got random Facebook messages of praise in addition to the much needed approval from those I’m speaking on behalf of,” he maintained. “I think after a few more attempts, I could probably pull off a viral video without any scripts as well.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Ehsanullah Ehsan’s release today is the most critically acclaimed video since Kulbhushan Jadhav’s famous compilation from last year. The former TTP spokesman’s video is also zooming towards the figures posted by Jadhav’s video, in terms of box office success.
“Maybe if they held a joint event with the Information Ministry for my video, I’d get similar popularity,” Ehsan believes. “But it’s just the first day, maybe I’m being impatient. The other video has a year-long head start.”
