KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party took to the streets in a protest sit-in in the city on Wednesday in which Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation over failing to provide Sindh with its rights.

Former Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and notable PPP leader Nabil Gabol also participated in the sit-in protest. Murad Ali Shah spoke to the participants of the protest and urged Prime Minister Nawaz to hang up his boots.

Dharnas will continue till the prime minister does not resign,” said the Sindh chief minister. “The federation has only given problems to Sindh,” he added.

Murad Ali Shah said that masses were suffering from 18-20 hours of load-shedding in Sindh on a daily basis. He said that the federation had failed to provide Sindh with gas and electricity. Murad Ali Shah further said that the federation had lost the confidence of the masses.

During his speech, the Sindh CM chanted slogans of ‘Go Nawaz Go’ and announced that the party would hold a public rally at Nishtar Park on May 1.
