ISLAMABAD: A young poetess succumbed to her wounds on Tuesday a day after she fell off a stage in Islamabad, a private news channel reported.
Farzana Naz sustained severe head injuries after falling under the stage at the closing ceremony of a national book festival in the federal capital on Monday. She was rushed to a private hospital where she remained in critical condition for 24 hours.
The poetess, however, failed to recover from the injuries caused by the fall and passed away at the hospital today.
According to medics, the poetess had suffered traumatic spinal and brain injuries.
