At least ten passengers were killed and several injured as a passenger van hit a landmine in Kurram agency in the early hours of Tuesday.

The vehicle was carrying two census workers, according to reports. It was en route to Sadda, Parachinar from Goddar when it hit a mine, injuring many passengers.

The injured were promptly shifted to a nearby hospital, according to rescue teams.

One woman died at the spot, whereas the others succumbed to injuries afterwards, as per initial reports.

This was allegedly the third attack directed towards census teams.

In another attack, a security officer died while another got injured, while they were on duty with a census team in Kallag Kolanch, an area near the coastal town of Pasni in Gwadar district.
