Islamabad: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday held a meeting with his aide Tariq Fatemi, local media reported quoting sources, amid reports that the Dawn leaks’ inquiry committee has recommended Fatemi’s removal from office.
According to reports, the issue was discussed during the meeting.
The special assistant to the prime minister will be given a chance to present his version, but Sharif is likely to ask for Fatemi’s resignation, reports added.
There is no official confirmation yet from the government or the PM’s office on the latest developments, which follow reports that the inquiry committee formed to investigate the matter had recommended the removal of Fatemi and Rao Tehseen from the office.
