Four FC soldiers lay down lives in a roadside blast

At least four personnel of the Frontier Corps laid their lives and three others were injured when a remote-controlled bomb hit their vehicle in Kech district of Balochistan province, a private TV channel reported on Sunday.

A security official told the channel that unidentified miscreants targeted the convoy of the paramilitary Frontier Corps force in Mand tehsil of the district. The vehicle was destroyed due to the intensity of the blast.

The official said that the FC convoy was on routine patrolling when it was targeted by unidentified miscreants, he said. The injured FC soldiers were rushed to the Turbat hospital. The FC and Levies personnel reached the spot following the incident as the investigation into the incident went underway.

Security was tightened in the area following the terrorist attack. Condemning the incident, Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri directed the law enforcement agencies to bring the perpetrators of the attack to book. He said that the security personnel sacrificed their lives for guarding the motherland and innocent citizens.

LANDMINE BLAST: In Mohmand Agency, one Khasadar official was killed and another injured in a landmine blast in tehsil Safi. The landmine was planted at the roadside in the tehsil, officials from the political administration said. The injured official was taken to the Bajaur Hospital.
