Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), Lahore, where over 28,000 deliveries take place annually, has been declared fit for dealing with gynaecological complications. This was stated by SGRH Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Nauman Matloob Syed while talking to APP here on Sunday. He said that in a modest amount of Rs 300 million, the hospital was also providing medicines to the patients.
Describing the performance of the hospital, the MS said that around 600,000 patients visited its OPDs, whereas, more than 500,000 patients were treated at its emergency department last year, alone.
He said that as per the capacity of the hospital, 30,000 operations were conducted, 86,000 ultrasounds and 13,000 MRI tests were performed in one year – on average.
In regards to its laboratories, he said that around 5.5 million different lab tests for blood along with12000 dialysis are performed here, per year.
Responding to a question, he said that 16 dialysis machines were working for the free dialysis of patients.
About the staff strength, Dr Nauman Matloob said that 3,000 staff of the Ganga Ram Hospital, including 1,000 qualified doctors and teaching professors of different departments, was busy in performing its duties.
He said that cleanliness of the hospital was monitored continuously and no complaint has ever been received in this regard. However, the management of the hospital is making efforts to keep the hospital neat and clean while providing best possible service and care to the patients.
