Nation to reject politics of sit-ins: CM

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that educated and enlightened people have rejected those who hurt national economy by sit-in, lockdowns and protests.

“Those who always criticise public welfare projects just for the sake of criticism are against public welfare,” he said while talking to a delegation of PML-N here on Sunday. Shehbaz said that the PML-N government has respected the mandate given by the people in the 2013 election and that all promises made during election shall be fulfilled this year.

The chief minister said that completion of the ongoing energy projects would end load shedding by the end of the year. He said the PML-N government under the honest leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would continue to serve the masses.

He said that the educated and enlightened people of Pakistan would reject those who hindered the progression of the country over the last four years. The Chief Minister said that transparency was maintained by the government while making development projects.

He said that plunderers of national resources deserve severe punishment. He said the corrupt mafia with the help of unscrupulous elements in the government had looted development funds mercilessly during the era of former rulers.

He said that time has come for holding these corrupt people, accountable. He said the objective of PML-N government is to serve the masses.

During the dictatorship of Musharraf, he added, corruption reached an unprecedented level. The supporters of Musharraf gave contract of treasures of Chiniot to their favourite company without a tender process. He said these people plundered public wealth in the name of development projects and looted billions of rupees from Punjab Bank.
