The Pakistan People’s Party Workers (PPP-W) central leader Naheed Khan said on Sunday that after the Panamagate decision, it had become difficult for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to remain in the office; therefore, he should resign.
She was addressing a press conference at her residence in Kot Waleed. She said the ruling party should now nominate another person. The decision had raised many questions about the prime minister, as he lied in and outside the parliament, she added.
Naheed said that the joint investigation team (JIT) in the light of apex court direction should not be opposed, as it is “a golden chance for national institutions to defend their dignity.”
Talking about the terrorist attack in Afghanistan, she said that effects of attacks in Afghanistan will be visible in Pakistan.
She said that the economic conditions of Pakistan were very bad and each child was under the burden of loan. “The electricity crisis has worsened and under these circumstances, PM should think of the country, not himself. [He should] quit the office with respect and should not push the country to anarchy,” she added.
She also demanded that visas issued to CPEC Chinese experts be made public. She said that in CPEC projects, seven per cent insurance interest becomes 14 per cent.
She also said that there were no personal differences with Asif Zardari but he had made PPP ‘a Zardari league’. She said if Bilawal wanted to do politics, he would have to establish his separate identity.
Dr Safdar Abbasi and Moazim Abbasi also spoke on the occasion.
