Taking a jibe at Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said that he (Zardari) has destroyed his own party (PPP) with his ‘expertise.’

“PPP is the smallest political party in all the four provinces,” he told a rally in Dadu on Saturday. The PTI chairman said that Zardari has no empathy for the people of Sindh. In Sindh, the farmers fear Zardari, he said. He also spoke about the Panama case verdict. “We are thankful to Almighty Allah for Supreme Court’s verdict.”

He said that the Supreme Court’s ruling has brought Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s ‘real face’ to the forefront. “He (Nawaz) lost his moral status after the verdict of the Panama case,” he said, adding it was Nawaz’s bad luck that his name came up in the Panama case.

He said that he has tried his best to ensure that Nawaz Sharif replied to his questions in the National Assembly. On the occasion, former federal minister Liaquat Jatoi also announced that he has officially joined PTI. “I welcome Liaquat Jatoi to PTI,” Imran said while welcoming the leader.

Addressing his supporters in Badin, the PTI chairman said that he would now go after PPP co-chairman as his struggle to pursue the alleged corruption charges against Prime Minister Nawaz has almost reached a conclusion. He regretted that he could not visit the province earlier as he was focusing on pursuing alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.

“I spent a year on this issue,” he said, adding the Panama case verdict has revealed the true face of Nawaz Sharif. “Now the prime minister is stuck with the joint investigation committee. Asif Zardari, I am coming after you,” he said. “He (Zardari) has ruled over Sindh using politics of fear,” he said, adding that Zardari owns sugar mills in the province yet the poor farmer who grows sugarcane is unable to get his rightful earning.

“He has property everywhere. Is he really sympathetic to your suffering,” the PTI chief questioned, casting doubt over Zardari’s loyalties to the people. “Nawaz Sharif built his empire in Punjab while Zardari built his in Sindh. There, Nawaz rigged the election, here Zardari rigged the polls,” he alleged.

He also claimed the two leaders were taking turns and have secretly agreed as to how they will rob the country of its resources. “Both have money abroad. Both are involved in money laundering,” he claimed, urging voters to demand an explanation from Zardari and ask him to explain how he acquired his assets.
