Party planning was in full swing in India, but American model Gigi Hadid has announced that she will not visit the country on April 27 as was earlier expected.
Fashion moguls of the country rejoiced the announcement of supermodel Gigi Hadid’s maiden visit to India on April 27 for a promotional campaign for a brand she endorses. After discussing style with Sonam Kapoor at an event Gigi would have proceeded to an exclusive dinner at a SoBo hotel next evening.
“It will be a sit-down dinner of 40 people, which Rhea’s father, Anil will attend as will Gigi’s mother Yolanda. Apart from them, only young celebs from all walks of life will be invited. The invite list is very selective and Gigi will be introduced to the young glitterati of India at the dinner, where Sonam is also expected to join Hadid,” DNA India had reported.
While reports suggested that Sonam’s family members, precisely cousin Arjun and sister Rhea, were busy making plans to host the international celebrity in Mumbai along with her mother Yolanda Hadid, we hear that the supermodel’s mother has no plans of coming to India as yet. A statement issued by Gigi’s team now states that the event has now been postponed.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Gigi Hadid’s visit to Mumbai, on April 27th, has been postponed. Gigi looks forward to presenting the collaborative collection of the brand and meet with fans at a later date,” reads the statement.
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old Gigi, who’s dating International music sensation Zayn Malik, is all set to ring in her birthday this Sunday.
