Pakistan Hindu Council leader and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani expressed anger on the matter of illegal encroachment of premises belonging to historical Shiva Temple in Sindh.
He was leading a delegation of Pakistan Hindu Council to visit the temple, located at Chor Jamali in district Sujawal. Dr Vankwani said that Sindh is known as the land of saints, which preached the message of love, peace and harmony. He urged that the illegal occupation of religious places should not be tolerated.
He asked the Sindh government to ensure respecting the religious sentiments of Hindu community, adding that such unwanted incidents intensify the hatred and misunderstanding among different segments. The delegation was briefed by the locals that the student wing of ruling party was involved in the illegal occupation, and the political flags of Sindh People’s Students Federation (PSF) could be observed around the temple where illegal commercial shops were being constructed.
Moreover, land allocated for children’s graveyard is also occupied. The local administration, including the assistant commissioner and SHO, after getting information about the arrival of Pakistan Hindu Council delegation also reached the spot.
On the occasion, Dr Ramesh demanded to end the encroachment within one week. He also appealed to the local MPA Mohammad Ali Malkani to play his due role to take strict action against the culprits.
