8 UC’s of Bakot to be added in GDA: Dr Azhar

 

 

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday added eight union councils of Circle Bakot in Tourism Integrated Programme (TIP) and decided to include tourist attraction areas of Bakot in Galyat Development Authority (GDA).

This was stated by PTI MNA PTI Dr Azhar Jadoon while talking to media here on Saturday. He said that it was decided during a meeting held in Peshawar where Country Director WB Kamran Akbar and Additional Chief Secretary Azam Khan and other concerned department participated.

Dr Azhar disclosed that for the promotion of tourism in Bakot circle, under TIP, improvement of communication links, construction of new and maintenance of existing roads will also be a part. These measures have been taken on the special directives of the Chief Minister KP Pervez Khattak whereas World Bank (WB) will finance the project.

He said after detailed deliberations on the aspects of tourism in the beautiful valleys and hilly areas of district Abottabad, many developmental projects have been approved.

Keeping in view of tourism attraction in Circle Bakot four different projects including Dhamtoor to Thandiyani via Kokmang Boi road, Ghari Habibullah road, Thandyani to Pattan Plain Muzaffar Abad via Ghari Habibullah raod, Nathiagalo to Kohala road and Sawar Gali road has also been approved, Dr. Azhar stated. Replying about a question about Dhamtoor bypass Dr. Azhar said that the meeting also reviewed the progress on Havelian Dhamtoor bypass for which KPK government has already allocated amount in Annual Development Plan (ADP) also approved.

Talking about the new Tehsil Bakot Dr. Azhar said that we are already working on it and have approved many projects in this regard, the politics of the people those have neglected Bakot for three decades will buried after the announcement of new Tehsil, adding he said.

Dr Azhar said that tourism is a huge industry in the world where some of the countries are entirely relying on tourism, after induction in GDA a new era of prosperity would be started in eight union councils of Bakot.
