LAHORE: Rain-related incidents have claimed at least eight lives in scattered parts of the country while several others have sustained injuries.
As per details, four people were killed in Nowshera and Jhang due to wall collapse and lightning. Another four people, including women and children, died in Kamoke when the roof of a dilapidated house collapsed as a consequent of heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, streams have been flooded and traffic system has been crippled as rain continue to shower in Khyber Agency on the second consecutive day.
Similarly, land sliding has forced the closure of Karakoram Highway in Gilgit, Kohistan and Khunjerab while several vehicles have been struck in the said areas.
On the other hand, intermittent rainfall has turned weather pleasant in different parts of the country including Lahore, Faisalabad, Kasur, Peshawar, Mardan and Nowshera.
The MET department has forecasted that current spell of rainfall will continue in parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan until Monday.
