KARACHI: Sindh Food and Parliamentary Affairs senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that only those candidates who pass the exams conducted by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) will get the jobs.
He said this while replying to a call attention notice taken up by MQM-Pakistan MPA Kamran Akhter regarding the number of members in Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) as per quota system for 300 appointments to be made in various departments of the province, as per the facilities in urban and rural areas of the province.
People of the rural areas do not have much facilities and literacy rate if compared to the urban areas, he said, adding, the female literacy rate in rural areas is only 8 percent. Khuhro said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government is taking measures for the development of both rural and urban areas.
He said that recently the government has appointed the chairman of the commission.
Meanwhile, Sindh Local Government (LG) Minister Jam Khan Shoro said that the legal action would be taken against people using Askari Park as a commercial entity.
He stated this while replying to a call attention notice raised by MQM-Pakistan MPA Syed Muhammed Qamar Abbas Rizvi that Purani Subzi Mandi which was later designated for the public as Askari Park at the university road was being utilised for commercial purposes.
Shoro said that the market was handed over to a national institution in 2001 by then Mayor Naimatullah Khan and a park was built there. Giving assurance to the MPA, he said that if someone has been using the park for commercial purpose, he will take legal action against the responsible.
Replying to a call attention notice tabled by MQM-Pakistan MPA Saifuddin Khalid pertaining to the heap of garbage lying on Maulana Shoukat Hussain Road in district West, Jam Shoro said that it will be removed soon. He said that he has already taken note of heap of garbage on Maulana Shoukat Hussain Road and has ordered to remove it.
