PPP leader Dr Asim Hussain, while fearing for his life, filed a First Information Report (FIR) on Thursday against unidentified individuals who allegedly followed and threatened him.
The police said the FIR was filed in the Boat Basin police station after unidentified individuals followed and threatened Hussain near Bilawal House.
Earlier this week, the Rangers moved an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) to seek timely disposal of a case against Dr Asim and others, citing pressure on private witnesses and a Sindh High Court order that the case be finalised within two months.
Hussain—a close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Karachi president—along with some other politicians had been booked in 2015 for allegedly treating and harbouring suspected terrorists, political militants and gangsters at his hospital.
This is a silly excuse to get his name removed from ECL.
