PM expresses satisfaction over SC’s Panamagate verdict

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed his satisfaction after the verdict in Panamagate case was announced by the five-member bench of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The final decision was split 3-2 among the five-member bench as two dissenting notes by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and Justice Gulzar Ahmed were also attached in the judgment.

The two judges of the bench ruled against the prime minister while professing that he should be disqualified, however, the other three judges expressed that JIT should be formed.

As per details, PM Nawaz Sharif heard the Supreme Court verdict while he was at the Prime Minister House, Islamabad.

The prime minister expressed his satisfaction over Supreme Court verdict while commenting that he respects the decision.

PM Nawaz let it be known that he already had presented proofs of his innocence within the courts and will continue to do so in front of the JIT.

The prime minister went on to say that his conscience is clear and hands clean and that he has done nothing wrong.

It is worth mentioning here that the JIT team will include officials of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), State Bank of Pakistan, Inter-Services Intelligence and Military Intelligence and will be headed by a director-general level FIA officer.
