KARACHI: US Consulate’s Commercial Officer Stephen P Knode along Political and Economic Section head Edward JB Burkhalter called on Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar in his office on Wednesday.
Deputy Mayor Dr Arshad Abdullah Vohra, Financial Advisor Khalid Mehmood Shaikh, and Municipal Services Senior Director Masood Alam were also present on this occasion, said a statement.
The mayor welcomed the US Consulate’s members on their arrival at the KMC Building.
Later, they discussed the matters of mutual interest.
The mayor informed them about the development works underway in Karachi for provision of better municipal facilities to citizens.
He said, besides carrying out uplift works, effective monitoring was also ensured in the execution of development activities in the city to ensure better standard and quality.
The US Consulate’s members appreciated the progress on development plans and the efforts of the mayor in this regard, the statement said.
