LAHORE: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday has forecast that scorching heat will continue to persist in parts of the country as mercury is likely to reach 44 degrees in Lahore.
The Met office has predicted mainly hot and dry weather in most parts of the country including Larkana, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Multan, Faisalabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Nawabshah and Dera Ghazi Khan.
It was also predicted that intensity of heat will be low at 34 to 36 degrees in Karachi due to sea winds. The meteorologists have said that there is no chance of rain so far.
On the other hand, unannounced power outages amid severe hot weather have landed the locals into an unending misery as urban cities are witnessing 14-16 hours of outages whereas the rural areas are undergoing 18-20 hours of power cut.
In Lahore, some areas are experiencing 24 hours of loadshedding however in others the situation is completely opposite.
GOR, Governor House, Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) office, airport, Wapda Town workshop and all the hospitals do not undergo power cut as Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has declared 44 feeders and industrial independent feeders as loadshedding free.
