Ever since film-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was slapped at the Jaipur sets of his upcoming project, Padmavati, the film’s shooting has been in the news for one thing or another.

Recently Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone reportedly stalled the shoot of the film after spraining her neck during the shoot due to the heavy costumes and jewellery, reported Hindustan Times.

“Deepika has sprained her neck a little and that’s why she couldn’t shoot, there is nothing more to add to this. She will resume shooting for Padmavati very soon, there is nothing to worry, and all other speculations can rest,” said a source.

The period drama, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will feature Ranveer as Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi ruler, who fell in love with queen Padmavati. The film also features Shahid Kapoor as Raja Ratan Singh, the Rajput ruler and husband of Padmavati (Deepika).

On January 27, Bhansali was slapped, roughed up and his film set vandalised by Karni Sena activists in a Jaipur fort for alleged distortions in the film script. Soon after, an unidentified group torched and reduced the film set in Maharashtra to ashes.

Fingers crossed, the film is set for a mid-November release this year.
