According to 2016 UN report on water, some three forth of jobs in the global workforce are dependent on water. Agriculture, fishing, energy and transport are all dependent on water. If the water resources dry up livelihoods do too – as reported in National Geographic magazine of March 2017. It is reported that when a water resource dries up it spawns extreme weather that can lead to people being uprooted from their homes and disrupting food webs driving forced migration. Our government is blissfully ignorant of importance of water in our life and Mr Modi PM of India threatens Pakistan to deprive us from last drop of water. However no mega dam has been built to store water in the past 40 years while India has built 4000 dams. When would we wake up from slumber?
