Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) President and former prime minister Ch Shujat Hussain has said that it seems that the Supreme Court’s verdict of the Panama case will pinpoint defects in the country’s accountability system and give direction for the country’s future.
He said this while talking to journalists at his residence here on Sunday.
In response to a question about the Senate chairman, he said “I thought Raza Rabbani was a brave man but he started raising an unnecessary hue and cry, complaining that the ministers attend sessions. He should know that as the chairman of the Senate, he has vast powers that he can use.” Shujat Hussain said if the chairman wanted, he could ban the entry of the ministers in the House as former Senate chairman Wasim Sajjad had once banned the entry of the attorney general.
“I think (what the chairman says) does not have any impact on many ministers and they do not understand parliamentary language,” Ch Shujat Hussain said.
