Complete shutdown in IoK after youth killed

Indian occupied Kashmir came to a complete after the cold-blooded murder of a youth in Srinagar and ruthless beating of students by Indian troops in Pulwama district.

The call for the strike was given by the joint resistance leadership comprising of Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Muhammad Yasin Malik, reported KMS.

All shops and business establishments were closed along with roads.

Personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) killed a 19-year-old boy in Batamaloo area of Srinagar when they opened fire on a group of youths passing the area. The martyred youth was identified as Sajad Hussain Sheikh of Chandoosa Baramulla and was residing in Batamaloo. The boy was rushed to the hospital but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Eyewitnesses say that it was a target killing “because we heard gun shots and saw the youth lay in a pool of blood on the road,” said one resident of the area. City Police Chief Imtiaz Ahmad Parray confirmed that there was no stone-pelting in the area.

The joint resistance leadership condemned the killing, terming it a brutal and barbarous attempt to muzzle the voice of Kashmiris.

Sajjad was laid to rest at a martyrs’ graveyard in Danderkha, Srinagar amid sobs, tears, and slogans.
