DINA: “Mushshak,” a training aircraft of Pakistan Army crashed in a village of Dina, near Jhelum due to technical glitch.
The aircraft took off from Mangla Airbase for training exercise but met with an accident in Haral Village.
However, both pilots Colonel Fazl-ur-Rehman and Captain Affan remained safe in the crash, according to reports.
There have been several air accidents regarding military aircraft in the past 18 months. A PAF’s F-7 aircraft crashed near the town of Jamrud, near the entrance to the Khyber Pass, and Flight Lieutenant Amer Shazad was killed.
On November 24, 2015, Flying Officer Mariam Mukhtar was killed in the F-7 plane crash near Kundian, Mianwali.
Another military helicopter being used as an air ambulance crashed in August 2015 near the northern district of Mansehra, killing 12 people.
In May 2015, a military helicopter carrying diplomats to inspect a tourism project crashed, killing seven people, including the ambassadors of Norway and Philippines.
