Intelligence agencies on Saturday foiled a bid to carry out a “major terrorist attack” in Lahore on occasion of Easter, which is to be celebrated on Sunday, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said.
Security forces carried out a ‘special’ intelligence-based operation (IBOs) near the Punjab Housing Society in Lahore, killing one suspected militant and and arresting one woman from the scene, ISPR said.
Four soldiers including two officers sustained injuries during the raid.
Security personnel also recovered suicide jackets and explosive material from the militants, the handout added.
