Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has felicitated the Christian community on Easter and said that all Pakistanis equally share the happiness of the Christian community.
The chief minister said in his message on the eve of Easter that the Christian community was playing its role for the development of the country. Respect to all prophets in the light of the teaching of Islam is our religious obligation and belief in Jesus Christ and other prophets is a part of Islamic teachings, he said.
Shehbaz Sharif said that brotherhood, harmony, peace, love, and affection were the gist of the teachings of Jesus Christ. He said that the role of the Christian community for the development and prosperity of Pakistan was commendable. The Christian community has earned respect and honour by serving the humanity and promoting education in the country, he said.
The chief minister said that the Punjab government has taken different steps for the well-being of the Christian community as well as other minorities. The constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights and complete safety and security to all minority communities, he said. Highlighting the need to promote inter-religious harmony, the chief minister said that we need to promote the message of love and harmony every day.
