An adjournment motion was filed in the Punjab assembly by PPP MPA Jahangir Watoo against the appointment of former IGP Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera as an advisor to the police department.
The appointment of an advisor in the police department is against the laws regulating the department, the MPA maintained. The department has had no advisors ever in the past and Police Order 2002 stands against any such appointment. Therefore, the MPA has asked the government to revoke its order regarding the appointment.
