KARACHI: The Sindh government have launched a crackdown in the province carried out by the Rangers under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997 which is to expire Friday midnight.
The special powers of paratroopers to launched actions in the province.
It should be mentioned here that the home department had earlier dispatched a summary to Chief Minister proposing a 90-day extension in the policing powers granted to the Rangers in the Karachi Division.
On January 16 this year, the provincial government gave a go-ahead for a 90-day extension to Rangers powers in Karachi.
If granted by CM Murad Ali Shah, the summary will be sent to the federal government and the policing powers will be extended till July 13.
