Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday said that Pakistan was moving fast towards peace and stability. Work is being carried out on energy projects around the clock and today Pakistan is more stable, prosperous, and peaceful as compared to 2013, he said.

The chief minister said that Pakistan had given unprecedented sacrifices against terrorism, adding that the political and military leadership of the country was wholly devoted to the eradication of extremism.

He expressed these views while talking to PML-N UK’ Senior Vice President Raja Zareef, who called on him here on Friday.

Shehbaz Sharif said that the millions of Pakistanis settled abroad were the country’s ambassadors and that the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) was playing an effective role to solve the issues of compatriots living abroad. He said that the Punjab government was pursuing a policy of zero tolerance against intercession, nepotism, corruption, and extortion by encouraging merit policy at every front. He said that the system in Pakistan was changing for the better.

Speaking on the occasion, PML-N UK Senior Vice President Raja Zareef said that millions of Pakistanis living abroad supported the PML-N as the government of Punjab had tackled their problems through the OPC.
