Khursheed Shah responds to Aseefa Bhutto’s Twitter outburst

ISLAMABAD: Reacting to Aseefa Bhutto’s angry Twitter outburst, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Thursday said that his comments regarding women parliamentarians were blown out of proportion.

In a series of tweets, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari expressed her anger on opposition leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah over his statements regarding women parliamentarians.

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari stated insensitive remarks against women in politics have reoccurred in Parliament. “Such remarks should not be tolerated. Hope Khursheed Shah respectfully apologises,” she stated.

“If Parliament is a model of our society and if our parliament continues to make derogatory remarks against women. It reflects on us,” Zardari stated.

Shah, while addressing the lower house of the Parliament, advised Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to allow women to speak during assembly sessions or else “they will fall ill”.

  1. Is there anything that called Freedom of speech in this Parliament? Opposition Leader should have use the correct words, and didn’t! It doesn’t mean it is a cause of explanation call!!
