A Chinese delegation led by Dagong Company Chairman Guan Jianzhong called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here today. Consul General of China Long Ding Bin, Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Planning & Development chairman, secretaries of concerned departments, and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
The consensus was made in the meeting to upgrade collaboration between the Chinese company and the government of Punjab. While conversing at this occasion, CM Shehbaz said that Pak-China relationship is transforming into productive monetary participation, and CPEC has supported the relationship, as it is accepting a basic part in strengthening Pakistan financially and boosting up neighbourly relations between both the countries. He said that billions of dollars have been invested in different sectors of Punjab, including education, health, transportation, communication, and construction.
He welcomed the decision of the Chinese company to cooperate in infrastructure financing. The CM assured that that interest in the social area will be expanded in the future; additionally, participation will be stretched out to devise a new arrangement of management credit rating. It was decided in meeting to establish a joint working group of Punjab government and the Chinese Company, which will prepare final recommendations for the promotion of cooperation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dagong Company chairman said that they will promote collaboration by keeping close ties with Punjab government. Chinese Consul General added that Shehbaz Sharif’s role in the successful and speedy execution of projects of CPEC in Punjab is estimable. He said that he himself visited Metro Bus and Orange Line Metro Train project yesterday and was quite impressed, as well as pleased, with the standard of work being carried out there.
