BADIN: A demonstration was held, on Friday, against the land grabbing by the armed men allegedly associated with MPA PK Shahani (Prem Kavel Ram) – an elected representative of Qambar-Shahdadkot constituency who used to be a close aide of Pakistan Peoples’ Party founder ZA Bhutto.

The dozens of residents of Badin, including Abdul Shakoor Khaskheli, Abbas Shah, Jani Khaskheli, Abdullah Shah and others, protested against the illegal occupation of a 142-acre agri-land.

The protestors also held a press conference at the Badin Press Club.

The demonstrators were of the view that they have been cultivating crops on this land from past many years now and were supporters of the PPP themselves.

The protestors, while claiming the PPP-MPA’s action as unjust, said that the party’s leaders need to take a stern action against the MPA.

People, while elaborating their ordeal, said that “The armed men are threatening us to vacate the land immediately.”

“More than six armed men are the source of panic in the area forcing us to keep our children at homes thus affecting their education too”, they added.

“If anything happens to our children then the goons of the MPA will be blamed.”They asked for protection and appealed to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former President Asif Ali Zardari, the Sindh chief minister, IGP Sindh, and others to take an immediate notice of the matter.
