“The establishment of food grain silos through public-private partnerships (PPP) will be a significant achievement towards appropriate wheat storage in Punjab as there is a dire shortage of food grain silos in the province,” Punjab Planning and Development (P&D) Minister Malik Nadeem Kamran Minister said during the in the 29th meeting of the steering committee held here to approve the food grain silos project at the P&D Complex on Wednesday.
Discussing the scope of the food grain silos project, Punjab P&D PPP Cell Member Agha Waqar Javed informed the steering committee that 40 silos would be constructed in total, adding that the Punjab government was encouraging the private investment in the sector.
