KARACHI: The current government is fully committed to providing latest scientific and technical education to the youth to enable them to face the challenges of the modern world.
These views were expressed by Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister for Information Science and Technology Department Dr Sikandar Shoro, while distributing 200 computers to the government schools as per criteria, on Tuesday at his office.
Technical education to the youth of the country is the need of the hour as it will be helpful in their professional lives, Shoro said.
He informed the students present on the occasion that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has issued directions for the provision of computers at the school level across the province.
“It is our prime responsibility to provide this facility at the school level to meet modern-day requirements,” he said.
The Information Science and Technology Department was planning to launch E-syllabus for primary schools in line with the government’s mission to provide the latest technology at grass root level, Dr Shoro concluded.
Earlier, Zhongxing Telecom Pakistan (ZTE) General Manager Shang You briefed about their organisation and informed that in the first phase, the company donated 200 computers to the Information Science and Technology Department for the government schools to utilise.
On the occasion, Information Science and Technology Department Secretary Abdul Rahim Shaikh, ZTE Pakistan General Manager Shang You, Information Science and Technology Director Muhammad Yousuf, the ZTE Pakistan (South) general manager, and other officers were also present.
